Hello and thank you for visiting our first grade website! This is my ninth year at SJCS. I started as an instructional assistant in the first grade classroom. Since then I've had a number of responsibilities: PE teacher, 2nd/3rd instructional assistant, SEP (extended care) Director, and classroom teacher. I taught kindergarten for three years before moving up to first grade in 2015. I hold a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from CSU Chico. I went on to the University of San Francisco where I earned a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Masters of arts in Teaching. I wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I like that teaching requires creativity and flexibility to meet the needs of the learners in my classroom. I strive to create a learning environment in which students know they belong, they are loved, and they are safe. This allows them to learn, make mistakes, and grow.
